For increased press wheel travel:

Improved press wheel contact can be achieved by increased vertical movement of the press wheel assembly in order to maintain contact with the soil.

The original down stop for the press wheel arm restricted the travel by at least one inch.

The new down stop for the press wheel arm allows increased vertical travel of the press wheel.

How To:

1. Place a block under press wheel to release pressure or lift press wheel and tighten nut (item 18) on bolt (item 37) to hold press wheel in place.

2. Remove Bolt (item 63) and Spacer “h” Frame (item 70). Be careful not to lose the Machine Bushing (item 43) located on the right side.

3. Insert new bolt, Truax part number 1201, Down Stop-Press Wheel Arm. This replaces item 63 and 70. The bolt head should be on the right side.

4. Torque bolt to 80 lb-ft or 110 Nm - reference Bolt Torque Specification chart Maintenance and Service 40-16.

5. Adjust depth band scrapers - reference Maintenance and Service 40-4.

6. Reference Operating the Drill 30-17 and verify that the drill is leveled so that the no-till coulters, double discs and press wheels are in the same plane.
